Our Mission Statement Our mission is to promote the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity, to recognize a belief in God, to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of our Members, to quicken the spirit of American patriotism, to cultivate good fellowship, to perpetuate ourselves as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its governance. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America will serve the people and communities of Sussex County Delaware through our charitable programs, thereby demonstrating that Elks Care - Elks Share.
Our Programs Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge #2540 is dedicated to supporting the welfare of our local community, as well as Elks national programs. We support youth development through our drug awareness program, college scholarships, Hoops Shoot contest, our Boy Scout troop and other Elks youth programs. Our veterans programs offer assistance to local charities, including Delaware's Home of the Brave. We offer Thursday night Bingo, Antlers Up Bingo on Friday and Sunday and numerous other social and fundraising events throughout the year.
Membership To be eligible for membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you must be a citizen of the United States over the age of 21 who believes in God.
